Payroll Supervisor - Crete, IL/Hybrid

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 
·        Oversee weekly/bi-weekly US (multi-state), Canada, Australian and Mexico payrolls    ensuring an accurate and timely payroll.  
·        Oversee the Payroll Department which includes leadership responsibilities including but not limited to training, developing, teaching, coaching, etc… of the staff, hiring and firing, disciplinary actions, annual reviews, etc… 
·        Cross-train on all company codes and ensure payroll team is cross-trained. 
·        Partner with ADP reps on payroll system. 
·        Ensure payroll is up to date with current law practices.  
·        Maintain payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures. 
·        Respond to confidential questions from employees within a timely manner. 
·        Lead process improvement efforts for current best practices. 
·        Review and know how to record weekly/monthly payroll journal entries. 
·        Provide ad hoc analysis and reports for business management. 
·        All other duties as assigned. 
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 
·                  Standing, walking, bending, and sitting for extended periods are required to perform basic office functions. 
·                  Ability to lift up to 25 pounds is regularly required for Photocopying, filing and other record keeping duties. 
·                  Vision must be sufficient for inputting data into a computer. 
·                  Keyboarding skills that reduce the risk of carpal tunnel and other office related injuries. 
 
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS: 
·        Office/Home Environment 

QUALIFICATIONS:
 
·                  High School Diploma or equivalent required, College degree preferred. 
·                  2+ years of multi-state payroll experience required 
·                  2+ years Leadership experience preferred. 
·                  International payroll experience with Canada, Mexico and/or Australia a plus 
·                  Extensive knowledge of ADP Workforce Now proficiency required.  
·                  Prevailing wage/union experience a plus 
·                  Must have strong MS Office Suite skills, specifically Excel 
·                  Must possess strong written and oral communication skills 
·                  Must be available to work overtime as needed. 
·                  Be a highly self-motivated conscious leader; manage your time wisely, display self-initiative and problem-solving.  
·                  Possess strong professional skills including being extremely organized, accurate, attention to detail; adhere to or beat deadlines. 
·                  Perform under pressure in a fast-based environment, willing to multi-task, take on more responsibility and able to accept coaching.  
·                  Display exemplary work ethic with a positive attitude; able to work in a team-oriented environment. 
·                  Must maintain a valid Driver’s License and abide by our Corporate Fleet Policy 
·                  Able to successfully complete all pre-employment testing required by Holland, L.P..
