KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Assembly Process Optimization and Standardization: 
  • Support the development of the assembly line and sub-assembly processes.
  • Create standard work instructions for the assembly process.
  • Implement standard work in areas lacking established procedures.
Material Presentation and Line Balancing:
 
  • Collaborate with the shop floor, production control, and warehouse to implement a material presentation process for the Mobile welder assembly line.
  • Continuously review process changes to ensure the assembly line remains balanced across all four stations.
Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI) Optimization:
 
  • Review VMI processes for hydraulic components, electrical components, and consumed hardware.
  • Determine optimal line-side locations for these components.
Cost Reduction and Continuous Improvement:
 
  • Lead and participate in Kaizen/Continuous Improvement (CI) activities to reduce labor and material costs (HEBU cost position).
Process Improvement and Project Management:
 
  • Work with the Fabrication department to implement fixtures and process improvements to enhance flow and reduce costs.
  • Serve as a lead project manager for various capital project initiatives, ensuring successful planning, execution, and completion
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. without reasonable accommodation. 
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. 
  • Willingness to wear PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots) as required. 

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: 
  •  Office/cubicle environment. 
  • The shop environment includes welding, overhead cranes, and forklifts. 
  • Field on-track environment involving all weather conditions. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
  •  Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  •  Experience working in a production line assembly environment. 
  • Knowledge and experience with lean production concepts. 
  • Experience using CAD and CAM software. 
  • Hydraulic and electrical system experience is preferred. 
  • Must maintain a valid Driver’s License and Passport and abide by our Corporate Fleet Policy 
  • Ability to complete all pre-employment testing required by Holland, L.P.
