Project Staff Accountant - Crete, IL/Hybrid

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 
  • Assist in preparation of periodic forecasts and annual budget with variance analysis
  • Prepares monthly business unit financial statements and reviews with operations personnel 
  • Revenue and expense variance reporting, analysis and explanation 
  • Prepares assigned business unit capital expenditure request justifications 
  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information 
  • Maintains and balances assigned general ledger accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies 
  • Assist with periodic and year-end audit requests 
  • May assist in processing weekly payroll as needed 
  • Other duties deemed necessary by management 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Standing, walking, bending, and sitting for extended periods are required to perform basic office functions.
  • Ability to lift up to15 pounds is regularly required for filing and other record keeping duties.
  • Vision must be sufficient for inputting data into a computer.
  • Keyboarding skills that reduce the risk of carpal tunnel and other office related injuries. 
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
  • Indoor office/home environment. 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required; CPA or CGMA designation or candidate preferred
  • 2 years Accounting/Payroll experience required
  • International Payroll experience with Mexico, Canada or Australia a plus
  • Intermediate software skills, must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word including V-Lookups, Pivot Tables and Graphic capabilities
  • Must be able to wro kwell with others both within and without our Department
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must be able to multi-task in fast-paced environment
  • Must be available to work overtime as needed to meet deadlines as necessary
  • Must maintain a valid Driver's License and abide by our Corporate Fleet Policy
  • Ability to successfully complete all pre-employment testing required by Holland, L.P.
