Intern - Operations Management (On-Site) - East Grand Forks, MN

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Shadow Management and other various leaders to learn the operation
  • Attend/Lead daily debriefing sessions
  • Travel to various ACS locations to ensure crews are staffed and have resources needed
  • May assist in loading and unloading of various products from trains and trucks
  • Work closely with support groups from Crete and University Park locations on any needed equipment, paperwork, or other various resources needed by the operation to ensure we can meet customer needs
  • Learn appropriate software and hardware used & supported by the company.
  • Produce reports needed by Management and/or customer
  • Evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent future problems.
  • All other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects – 15 to 30 pounds, such as computers and peripherals.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time between locations
  • Standing, walking, bending, and stretching are required regularly to perform train-unloading operations.
  • Manual dexterity to handle tools and the ability to lift 25 pounds are required to perform unloading operations.
  • Vision must be sufficient to perform an inspection of trucks and all other equipment required for material handling.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
  • Office environment
  • Exposure on a regular basis to various outdoor weather conditions.
  • Exposure to Limestone, Coke, and Coal dust.
  • Exposure to gasoline & fuel vapor when fueling trucks and equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required; some college preferred
  • Computer aptitude and experience with Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft Office 365 applications, and IOS devices
  • Positive attitude & strong work ethic.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation
  • Exceptional written and oral communication, and willingness to share knowledge with co-workers and end users.
  • Ability to think logically and creatively.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks on the fly.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and abide by our Corporate Fleet Policy
  • Ability to successfully complete all pre-employment testing required by Holland L.P.
