The Role

In this role, you will help unlock the information of medical (and other) records to help create an intelligent healthcare decision-making platform that delivers an integrated information set at critical points in the patient journey.  This position requires experience in using and acquiring healthcare data as well as designing, writing, and validating reports and queries.
 
Key Responsibilities
As our Senior Healthcare Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in shaping and developing our data products and analytic capabilities, enabling Eon to continue to develop its patient care platform.
  • You will work with many sources of healthcare data, including EHR, imaging, lab, and billing to design and create reports for both internal and external clients.  
  • You will apply your expertise to data sources and data elements and determine the optimal method for integrating the data.  
  • You will leverage your analytical expertise to understand and gain insights from the data and reports.  
  • You will partner with teams across the organization to drive adoption of data tools for better decision making.  
  • The analytics will often require creating de novo reports and may require writing scripts to extract data from HL7 or from a database, it may also require cleaning data and harmonizing it.  
  • The role will help create ETL components for data warehouse.  
  • You may be involved with performing exploratory data analysis and data extraction from a data lake.  
  • You will have responsibility for identifying, reviewing, and helping to correct sources of data quality issues in data products and custom projects.
There is no direct supervisory responsibility for this position.
 
Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related STEM field AND 4+ years experience (OR Master's Degree AND 2+ years experience) in the healthcare industry, with a strong understanding of medical records, quality, billing, and health data privacy laws 
  • Experience in SQL, EXCEL and a scripting language (Python, C#, etc.) and experience in Power BI / Tableau
  • 3-5 or more years working as a data analyst for clinical, quality or decision support in progressively more responsible positions (working on data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analyses)
  • Experience combining data from discrete / structured and text / unstructured data sources
  • Demonstrated experience writing reports / creating complex analytics using healthcare data and validating the work against requirements
  • Strong grasp of experimental design, A/B Testing, and statistical analysis
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting medical data and reports, using visualization tools and enabling data-driven decision making
  • Knowledge of advanced analytics tools and languages (proficiency with Python, R, Mojo, etc would be ideal)
  • Experience using HL7 (or similar) message content
  • Experience using NLP or LLMs to explore text data
  • Experience writing and executing SQL queries
  • Experience cleaning and organizing data in preparation for report or for creating an ETL for data warehousing
  • Microsoft studio fluent (EXCEL, ACCESS, SQL)
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts and implications to business partners
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies including as well as familiarity with tools such as JIRA
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts and implications to business partners

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $100,000 - $130,000 (yr base pay); however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act. Base (CEPA) pay information is based on market location.
