Technical Instructor - Crete,IL

Wage Type: Salaried, exempt
  • Work with the business units technical and equipment teams as well as various Holland support teams to identify, coordinate and conduct basic orientation and technical training for our field personnel. (Focusing on, but not limited to Holland equipment and administrative policies and procedures.)
  • Identify and utilize necessary resources for effective design of training to be conducted in a classroom at Holland headquarters or remote sites, worksites and/or online.   
  • Work with the Training Manager to ensure that course materials meet accepted design standards and the validity of associated testing instruments. Identify improvements and recommends changes to the planning, scheduling, monitoring and delivery of Holland training programs. 
  • The Technical Trainer confers with management and staff to determine training needs and regulatory compliance and provides guidance and assists with interpretation of regulatory rules.
  • Analyze technical courses developed by instructors for technical accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure that training is carried out effectively and utilize well designed feedback devices for continuous improvement.
  • Carry out programs within established budgets.
  • Work as a collaborate member of our operating team to improve our onboarding of new employees and their future retention and development.
  • Conduct remote training when feasible.
  • Continually improve presentations, delivery methods and skill assessments utilizing internal and external expertise.
  • Participate in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to obtain useful information and integrates information into training programs.
  • All other duties as assigned. 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Willingness to wear PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed boots, and safety vest) as needed.

  • Training environments to include: conference rooms at Holland, offsite facilities, hotels as well as potential field training at work sites.
  • Work in all weather conditions.
  • Travel up to 25% by ground, rail and air.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in directly training technical skills in small group settings as well as classroom environments in an industrial setting.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbal and written, with team members, customers and management.
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical, mechanical and hydraulic disciplines.
  • Understands basic financial models, including revenue, costs, and profitability concepts.
  • Proven ability to achieve project deadlines and cost performance.
  • Intermediate proficiency level with Excel, Word and Power Point.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable federal, state and local rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply company procedures and requirements in development of training.
  • Pass a mandatory pre-employment drug screen.
  • Possess a valid drivers license and meet the Holland Vehicle Fleet Policy.
