Regional Safety Specialist - Western Region - Western US

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
·                  Provide training, coaching, and guidance to regional field teams and fixed facility locations.
·                  Conduct field and site assessments to develop safe work plans and operating procedures
·                  Conduct field audits on potential risks and implement corrective actions, training and coaching to eliminate risks
·                  Manage investigations of accidents and corresponding reporting.
·                  Educate operations management on FRA regulatory compliance.
·                  Participate and lead special project assignments.
·                  Communicate Safety successes, near miss details, and trend analysis findings to regional crews and operational leaders.
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
·                  Ability to walk for prolonged periods of time on uneven surfaces such as railroad track areas, rough surface jobsites, etc. 
·                  Ability to conduct repetitive motions in an office environment such as sitting, typing, computer use, etc. 
·                  Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and on and off heavy trucks and equipment. 
·                  Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and otherwise get around indoor, outdoor, railroad track, and other general work areas and equipment. 
·                  Vision must be sufficient for driving and for conducting safety audits and inspections. 
·              Ability to travel up to 75% via rail, automobile and airplane.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
·                  Exposure to outdoor conditions, including inclement weather, when conducting site visits/audits/training, etc. 
·                  Exposure to dust/fumes/mist, grinding particles, smoke, and particulates consistent with welding, grinding, and heavy industrial work. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
·                  High School Diploma required; Bachelors Degree in Safety or equivalent curriculum preferred
·                  Must be based out of the Pacific or Mountain regions of the US.   
·                  5+ years of professional Safety experience in a field, railroad or construction setting.
·                  Successful experience in developing and delivering safety training in group settings.
·                  In depth knowledge of FRA and OSHA Regulations
·                  Proven knowledge of accident investigation fundamentals.
·                  Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft suite of products, most notably Excel and PowerPoint.
·                  Must maintain a valid Drivers License and Passport, and abide by our Corporate Fleet Policy
·                  Must be able to successfully complete all pre-employment testing required by Holland L.P.
