Warehouse Operations Manager - University Park, IL

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Ensure deliveries occur within customer timelines
• Liaison between internal customers and Procurement Buyers, providing feedback and input on suppliers, inventory levels, etc. 
• Develops and maintains processes for, inventory control, and warehousing functions
• Provides leadership for the Warehouse Supervisor and team who execute the tactical processes of receiving, warehousing, and   distribution operations
• Responsible for managing processes to ensure inventory accuracy.  Facilitate and reconcile physical inventories with minimal inventory variance (target 5% or less)
• Routinely identifies inventory and process variances and implements corrective actions on a timely basis
• Responsible for the warehouse safety process to provide a safe workplace for employees that are within the regulations of all OSHA, local, and regulations
• Responsible for creating and maintaining the warehouse budget
• Oversee maintenance of warehouse equipment, providing both preventive maintenance programs and all necessary repairs.  Ensures that the warehouse personnel have safe, efficient equipment to perform the distribution functions.
• Responsible for the progressive disciplinary process in counseling, oral and written warnings; ensures a productive labor climate in the warehouse operation.
• Other Duties as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Standing, walking, bending, and stretching are required to perform warehousing operations.
• Manual dexterity to handle tools
• Ability to move 25 pounds are regularly required to perform unloading and inventory movement operations.
• Vision must be sufficient for driving and inspection of trucks and all other equipment required for the purpose of material handling

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
• Working in manufacturing/warehouse - standing on concrete and climbing over equipment.
• Exposure on an occasional basis to outdoor weather conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Seven years+ Warehouse/Materials Management experience
• Understanding of Lean/CI best practices as they apply to materials management
• General understanding of quality systems such as ISO 9001
• Outstanding leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Proficient knowledge of inventory control and warehouse management processes
• Fundamental understanding of MRP system functionality
• Proficient in Excel
• Advanced data analysis
• Forklift operator skills a plus, but not required
• Bachelors in business management or equivalent.  Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal education
