SmartRank is a new way to screen job applicants that significantly reduces the time and cost per hire and maximizes inclusiveness by removing the primary source of unconscious bias: the resume.
We think it's ludicrous to expect recruiters, who are neither subject matter experts nor clairvoyants, to match high-level summaries (resumes) to equally vague job descriptions. In addition to being grossly inefficient and ineffective, the process is rife with bias and lacks tools to capture the data most useful for measuring effectiveness, leaving no hope for improvement.
Rather than struggle with resume noise and bias, SmartRank focuses on continuously improving the ability of screening questions to predict positive and negative outcomes. This enables recruiters to make data-driven decisions, quickly, without the need to act as subject matter experts or buy a crystal ball. It enables a uniquely responsible use of machine learning that puts all applicants on a level playing field and removes the systemic bias inherent in resume-based screening processes.
