Our product is the first comprehensive professional-grade VR medical simulation system, and it is used by our customers to train physicians, nurses, paramedics and other allied health professionals. THE JOB
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research and Grants Coordinator to join our team at SimX. As a Research and Grants Coordinator, you will play a key role in the pre- and post-award grants management process for sponsored research and development projects. This includes proposal and budget development, developing and running sponsored research program processes, collecting, analyzing and producing information related to sponsored research at the company, producing and contributing post-award planning, reporting, and compliance activities, and contributing to strategic planning and outreach initiatives for R&D. Your work will directly impact policies and programs, driving innovation and improvement within our organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  •  Conduct pre-award sponsored research proposal development activities, such as analyzing requests for proposals, identifying potentially relevant opportunities, developing proposal templates and materials, and developing budget and finance-related materials.
  • Engage with diverse stakeholders both within and outside of the company, including scientists, clinicians, engineers, medics, and Government personnel as you develop research ideas into full proposals
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather relevant materials, data, and information required for the development of sponsored grant and contract projects. Ensure accuracy and completeness of the collected materials.
  • Complete and manage various forms and documentation related to research and development processes, grant applications, and project tracking. Attention to detail and adherence to guidelines are essential.
  • Prepare well-structured and compelling grant proposals aimed at securing funding for SimX projects. Develop clear narratives that effectively communicate project objectives, methodologies, and potential impact.
  • Contribute to strategic program and entity planning, providing valuable insights and contributing to funding and financial sustainability initiatives.
  • Develop and contribute to the outreach strategy for program communications, development, partnerships, and funding efforts. Collaborate with the team to enhance the visibility and impact of SimX's work.
  • Assist in the coordination of post-award administrative tasks related to executing awarded sponsored research and development projects. This includes maintaining project records and reporting, organizing meetings, and ensuring seamless communication within the team and with external partners.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences, data analytics, or similar)
  • 2-3 years of experience submitting grant proposals within sponsored research or academic funding contexts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear and concise content for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in strategic planning and program management is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively engage with various stakeholders. 
This is a full-time, remote position. Candidates must live within the United States and will primarily be expected to work during Pacific Time business hours. In addition, candidates will also be expected to attend major simulation conferences and/or in-person closing meetings potentially as frequently as monthly. 


PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences, data analytics, or similar)
  • Familiarity with government contracts (DOD, NIH, DOE)
  • Experience writing SBIR/STTR grants 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Target salary range: $50,000 - $125,000 annually; commensurate with experience
